Project Bog Turtle

Project Bog Turtle grew out of the all-volunteer work being done by the conservation committee of NCHS. PBT was officially formed in 1995 and  includes members working in all of the southeastern states. PBT activities include: monitoring historic and potential  bog turtle sites, site management and restoration, leasing sites and pit tagging. Project Bog Turtle works closely with the respective state agencies, US Fish and Wildlife Service, The Natural Resources Conservation Service, The Nature Conservancy, The Tortoise Reserve, and local land conservancies.
